Cronology is an videoaction recorded and edited at the Escola de Imaxe e Son de A Coruña (EIS).
This performance shows a double and parallel reading, on one hand through the fragments of text extracted from a contemporary history text book, on the other hand through my body which had been marked by the “great events” of western culture. This video-performance problematizes the division between History and history (as a master narrative or as an experience). Using the dilated story of a women that whose life spans for almost 200 years, and who without willing to, becomes a witness to the great institutional and political events, this work evidences that historical narratives are constructs, and alerts us that we, political and gendered subjects, must be aware of our need to construct history.
